Which versions of DaVinci Resolve are supported?

The template is fully compatible with both the Free and Studio versions of DaVinci Resolve.

Can I adjust the animation speed of the messages?

Yes. You can customize the send and receive animations by modifying the keyframes in the Spline tab. The animations snap to the first frame of your composition on their own.

Can I use the text message template for commercial projects?

Yes, you are permitted to use this template for both personal and commercial projects. However, redistributing or reselling the template file itself is strictly prohibited. Please refer to the provided license for complete details.

How do I add images to the messages?

While direct image support is not currently included, you can increase the bubble size by adding empty new lines or spaces. You can then manually merge your image over the bubble and use a tracker to match the animation.

I'm having trouble with the installation. What should I do?

How To Install

Preparation

Download and extract the 'Text Message Bubbles' package.

Open DaVinci Resolve.

Create a new timeline and switch to the Fusion page.

Choose Installation Method

Automatic

Open your extracted folder and drag and drop the installer.lua file into the nodes area.

Click OK on the license and the installations.

To verify, open the Fusion page and press Shift + Space to search for 'Message'.

Manual

From the extracted folder, open the Macros folder.

Copy all the files from inside that folder.

Open DaVinci Resolve's Macros folder.
