Overview

Procedural VHS is a DaVinci Resolve plugin for authentic analog VHS emulation. All analog artifacts are generated procedurally using node based logic rather than video overlays or textures, giving full control over every parameter. Major sections such as interlacing, color damage, and edge degradation can be toggled independently. It is engineered for real time performance and generally runs faster than texture based VHS plugins. It works at any resolution DaVinci Resolve supports, including 4K, and is fully supported on the free version of Resolve. It is a purely visual plugin (no audio effects) intended for professional production: music videos, commercials, and cinematic social content. Developed by sh4rk.

Updates
Updates are free. To update, simply download the latest version again and reinstall it.
License
There is no license key and no online activation. The product is just files you install, so there is no machine limit and nothing that can deactivate.
Performance
The tools are designed first for visual quality and output rather than raw speed, but they are all heavily optimized for fast, near real time performance.

Installation

Preparation

  1. 1.Download and extract the 'Procedural VHS' package.
  2. 2.Open DaVinci Resolve.
  3. 3.Create a new timeline and navigate to the Fusion page (ensure a composition is active).

Automatic install

  1. 1.Open the extracted folder and drag the installer.lua file into the nodes area.
  2. 2.Follow the prompts to complete the automated setup.
  3. 3.To verify, open the Fusion page in DaVinci Resolve and press Shift + Space to search for 'Procedural VHS'.

Manual install

  1. 1.From the extracted folder, open the Macros directory.
  2. 2.Copy the 'Procedural VHS' folder.
  3. 3.Navigate to your DaVinci Resolve Macros folder.
  4. 4.Create a folder named 'sh4rk' and paste the 'Procedural VHS' folder inside it.
  5. 5.Return to DaVinci Resolve, open the Fusion page, and press Shift + Space to search for 'Procedural VHS'.
